Dairy Food Safety & Certification Grants Awarded

The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) is pleased to announce awards for 12 projects through 2022 Dairy Food Safety & Certification Grant, for a total of $290,540.09. This program helps dairy farmers, processors, and/or producer associations take actionable steps to improve the safety of dairy products and improve marketability.

Creating a Culture of Farm Safety

The dairy farmers who have the longest careers in agriculture are those who have spent some time thinking about and prioritizing farm safety. Large dairy cows, heavy machinery, repetitive motion, and farm chemicals are just a few of the daily encounters that farmers and farmworkers must consider. And while some other industries have seen injury rates decline over time, the rate of farm accidents has remained stubbornly high.

Grantee Spotlight: Oak Knoll Rebrand

In 2021, Bridgman Hill Farm received a Marketing & Branding Services Grant from the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center to support a rebrand of their Oak Knoll product line. These funds are being used to engage with Rival Brands, a marketing and branding consultancy, to help the partners of Oak Knoll more gracefully represent their high-quality milk and position the brand more strategically for future success.
