When the 2018 Farm Bill established the Dairy Business Innovation Initiative, the USDA selected four sites across the country to be regional hosts for the initiative:
- Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center, hosted by Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets – Northeast region
- Dairy Business Innovation Alliance, hosted by Center for Dairy Research (CDR) and the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) – Midwest region
- Southeast Dairy Business Innovation Center, hosted by University of Tennessee – Southeast region
- Pacific Coast Coalition, hosted by California State University, Fresno – West region
This October, the four centers are coming together for a Dairy Symposium at the World Dairy Expo.
Each center will present about their regional impacts and how they’ve supported dairy businesses in the development, production, marketing and distribution of dairy products.
NE-DBIC’s Laura Ginsburg will be one of the presenters. Joining her will be Heather Darby, an agronomist with University of Vermont Extension and a leader of one of the NE-DBIC Dairy Cohorts.
The Dairy Symposium will be held on Tuesday, October 3 in Madison, Wisconsin.
