With such a clear need for storage and handling funding across the region, NE-DBIC will be re-opening this grant again in fall of 2023.
Across the Northeast, dozens of dairy farmers are improving their production strategies and businesses through Dairy Farm Cohorts,
an innovative approach to technical assistance funded by the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC). To date, there have been five rounds of cohort-based technical assistance contracts. Here’s a look at some of the cohorts:
The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center is pleased to announce 10 recipients of the second round of the Dairy Marketing and Branding Services Grant. Recipients spanned the Northeast region. These funds allowed processors to access professional marketing and branding services to elevate their businesses through marketing tactics, brand improvements, and overall strategy.
The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) is pleased to announce awards for 5 additional farmer cohort projects throughout the Northeast region, joining 3 others already underway. These service providers provide targeted technical assistance to farms interested in transitioning to grass-based production models, enhancing the production of home-grown forages, and/or utilizing alternative farm management strategies not typically found in the United States dairy sector.
The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) is pleased to announce awards for 12 projects through 2022 Dairy Food Safety & Certification Grant, for a total of $290,540.09. This program helps dairy farmers, processors, and/or producer associations take actionable steps to improve the safety of dairy products and improve marketability.
The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) is pleased to announce the award of Dairy Business Viability & Technical Assistance Grants to eight businesses and organizations in the Northeast. This grant program supports coordinated technical assistance projects that enhance dairy farmer and processor business operations and strengthen market opportunities.
Looking to capitalize on this and other aspects of their business, Henry Farms applied for and received a $15,000 grant through the NE-DBIC’s Marketing and Branding Services Grant program. With these funds, they have engaged with consultants to improve their website and Customer Management System.
Mediation is an informal process where parties meet with a neutral person (mediator) who helps them negotiate their differences. Mediators don’t decide who is legally right or wrong nor will they tell you what to do. Mediation leaves the decision-making power totally and strictly with the parties. Mediators with expertise in agricultural issues are available for free in states throughout the Northeast.
